Bombproof and easily affordable: Truvativ Husslefelt Stem

Anyone into FGFS and looking for a stem that can take a beating should check this out. It’s a MTB stem so undoubtedly can take the forces of anything you’re going to throw at it.  It looks great, and best of all is so god damn cheap! I picked mine up for 25GBP from Wiggle

So Hot!! Also available in a sleek black.

It has an oversize bar clamp (31.8mm), so you’re going to have to find a suitable bar to accompany it. I suggest either the Truvativ husslefelt bars or the Easton Monkey bars in a low-mid rise.

It’s seems that everyone now is leaning more over to using bmx compenents, however don’t forget that MTB parts can also take a drilling.

Vans Half Cab

I picked up a pair of the Vans Half Cab pro edition during my stay in NY, in search for a much stronger shoe to ride fixed gear with, as most of my other Vans just fell apart due to intensive riding. I must say they are super comfy and ideal for the little trick riding I’ve been doing at the moment, with reinforced soles and stronger outer material for longer lasting quality. Vans also calls these shoes one of their ‘Lengend’s Shoes’ they also mentioned this… ‘The Half Cab has become one of the most legendary skate shoes of all time, worn by an entire generation of pro riders who redefined street skating’. Hopefully this will also be the case for fixed gear riders in the future..!
